Update: Huntington Beach Bar Tied to 72 California DUI Arrests Has Hours Curtailed

We posted recently in regards to how certain bars and night clubs in Huntington Beach have become notorious after police have continued to ask California DUI suspects where they were drinking during their investigations. The answers provided by the suspects have not been forgotten, and apparently they have been recorded somewhere, as police are now working to curtail the hours of one particularly notorious drinking establishment that has been allegedly tied to 72 California DUI arrests during the past two years.

According to police, Baja Sharkeez, which is located at 211 Main Street in Huntington Beach has been named by suspects many times over as the location where they had been drinking before they were arrested for California DUI. As a result of this enormous number of mentions, local law enforcement officials have sent a letter notifying those who run the bar that they will no longer be able to provide entertainment for their customers beyond 11 p.m. on any business day.

The Huntington Beach Police Department issues entertainment permits, and this can provide the leverage the police need to make such decisions and to take such steps. In addition to the reduced hours, California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control, or ABC, has opened an investigation into the establishment.
