Television Star Arrested for California DUI at Same Time Show Premiers

Reality television stars have become more and more prevalent in society in recent years, and while many of the shows are obviously scripted, staged and anything but real, the stars of these shows tend to show time and time again that they are just like anyone else in that they can make mistakes. Such appears to be the case with one of the stars of You’re Cut Off, a VH1 program, as Jennifer Jowett was arrested on suspicion of California DUI at the same time as the new season of the program was premiering.

According to authorities, Ms. Jowett was originally pulled over for talking on her cell phone, which is a moving violation in California. As she was being questioned regarding the use of her phone, officers detected the odor of alcohol and began to question her in regards to her possible alcohol consumption.

She was given a field sobriety test and performed poorly according to officers. She was also given a breathalyzer test and was measured at 0.10, which is just above the legal limit in California of 0.08. She was arrested, processed and held overnight at a nearby police station, but she posted bond at 8:00 the next morning and was released.
