Former Angel Adam Kennedy Arrested in Newport Beach for California DUI

The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim is a Major League Baseball team that has endured an unfortunate recent history in regards to California DUI.  In April of 2009, promising pitcher Nick Adenhart was killed in a California DUI accident, causing a ripple effect of grief throughout the community.  As a result, any time someone with ties to the Angels is involved in a California DUI incident, it will draw attention.

Unfortunately, such was the case last night when former Angels’ second baseman Adam Kennedy was arrested on suspicion of California DUI in Newport.  He was pulled over just before 9 p.m. last night as he was driving his pickup truck on the northbound 73 just south of MacArthur Boulevard.

After police investigated the matter, Mr. Kennedy was arrested on suspicion of California DUI and taken to the Orange County Jail for processing.  He was ultimately released just after 6 a.m. this morning.  Mr. Kennedy is now a member of the Seattle Mariners and will need to get moving on his California DUI defense effort.
